Migraine is another type of severest headache that causes a severe, throbbing pain, often on only one side of the head.  Some  patients who have migraine may experience called an aura before they feel pain.  The most common auras involve visual disturbances, such as shimmering lights or blind spots. People who are suffering from migraine often have nausea, vomiting or extreme sensitivity to light or noises. It is also called sick headache because the pain may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.  Migraine may be caused by increased stretching, swelling and throbbing of the arteries and veins lining the brain and outside the skull.
Migraine recurs from time to time and is often so painful that the victim must stay in bed.  Some people suffer migraines as frequently as two or three times a week.  Before the pain begins, they may see flashing lights or have a blind spot in their field of vision.  The pain usually strikes on one side of the head with nausea and vomiting.  Some victims also shed tears, experience blurred vision or have numbness in an the arm or leg.
It may be due to foods or activities that can trigger migraines in people who tend to get these headaches.   Seeing bright lights or neglecting to eat may also trigger headaches.  Some patients can reduce the frequency of their migraines by identifying their particular triggers and avoiding those foods and experiences.  Such foods as chocolate and various strong cheeses may trigger migraines.
Causes of migraine headaches focused on brain’s blood flow and changes in the size of its arteries, the disorder involves serotonin, an important chemical messenger in the brain.
Sometime, calcium-channel blocker is any of a group of drugs used to treat various disorders of the heart and blood vessels.  Calcium-channel blockers increase blood flow to the heart and reduce blood pressure.  They play an important role in the treatment of some cases of angina pectorals–chest pains caused by inadequate oxygen supply to the heart.  Calcium-channel blockers are also effective in treating high blood pressure, heart arrhythmia (irregularity of the heart rate) and migraine.
