HEART BURN

HEART BURN
Also called; Acid indigestion, a painful burning feeling in chest or throat. It happens when stomach acid backs up into esophagus, the tube that carries food from mouth to stomach. If experiencing frequent heartburn or more than twice a week, one should consider having gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), food sticking, blood or weight loss may be associated with a more severe problem, such as esophagus and Barrett’s esophagus.  With GERD, the muscles at the end of esophagus do not close tightly enough, this allows contents of the stomach to back up, or reflux, into the esophagus which irritate it.  The condition has been linked to unhealthy living and a poor diet and one of the most common digestive disorders.  The condition is caused by small amounts of acid from the stomach rising up into the gullet. The gullet, unlike the stomach, does not have a protective lining therefore when it is exposed to the acid, it can become inflamed and painful-leading to the sensation of heartburn. Though heartburn is the most common symptom of acid reflux,it is not the only problem. If you have other symptoms such as crushing chest pain, it could be a heart attack.
One should try-natural remedies for heartburn ;
Avoid Heartburn trigger foods, beverages that most commonly trigger heartburn include: Citrus fruits, juices, chocolate, peppermint, excessive alcohol consumption, particularly red wine, tomatoes and tomato-based products, greasy or spicy foods, fatty or acidic foods, caffeinated beverages such as coffee, carbonated beverages, such as colas.
Eat smaller, more frequent meals.  Large meals expand stomach and can increase upward pressure against esophageal sphincter.  Wait at least 2 to 3 hours after eating to head to bed, not eating close to bedtime.
Gravity helps keep the stomach juices from backing up into esophagus and assists flow of food and digestive juices from the stomach to the intestines – why if having heart burn may feel better standing up right after eating than laying down.
Elevate your head while sleeping.  Laying down flat presses the stomach’s contents against the lower esophageal sphincter(LES), which is the connection between esophagus and stomach. With head higher than the stomach, gravity helps reduce this pressure. One can elevate the head a few inches in a couple of ways. You can place blocks or anything that’s sturdy securely under legs of your bed at head. You can also use an extra pillow, or a wedge-shaped pillow, to elevate your head.
Don’t Smoke.  Nicotine relaxes esophageal sphincter. Smoking also stimulates production of stomach acid.
Relax-while stress hasn’t been linked directly to heartburn, it is known that it can lead to behaviors that can trigger heartburn. Follow these relaxation tips to alleviate stress, and thus make stress-related heartburn less likely.
Losing weight if obesity contributes to the problem.
Wearing loose-fitting clothes.
Symptoms are much worse if to put yourself in a horizontal position with a stomach full of food and fluid so the best way to treat it is not to go to bed after you have eaten.
Try ; Baking Soda, a natural antacid. If you dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water, it can neutralize acid and temporarily alleviate heartburn caused by acid reflux. There are some drawbacks, however, to this. When you add baking soda to water,it releases carbon dioxide. That’s what causes fizz. This fizz can open LES to enable you to burp, and help relieve pressure from bloating. Unfortunately, though, opening LES can also allow stomach contents to reflux up into the esophagus.
Bananas, act as natural antacid in body, can eat either fresh, dried bananas.
Chamomile Tea, used to help neutralize stomach acid, can also be used as a stress reliever.
Apple Cider Vinegar.
Ginger, is one of the oldest remedies for heartburn, also used to help treat nausea.
Turmeric, helps stimulate digestion and prevent acid build-up.
Symptoms also suggest that somehow damage have already occurred include: Dysphagia: difficulty swallowing or a feeling that food is trapped behind the breast bone.
Bleeding: vomiting blood, or having tarry, black bowel movements.
Choking: sensation of acid refluxed into the windpipe causing shortness of breath, coughing, or hoarseness of the voice.
Weight Loss.
GERD sufferer and are taking the right steps  to treat it.
•Do you frequently have one or more of the following:

•Do you often experience these problems after meals?
•Do you experience heartburn or acid indigestion two or more times per week?
•Do you find that antacids only provide temporary relief from your symptoms?
•Are you taking prescription medication to treat heartburn, but still having symptoms?
If you said yes to two or more of the above, you may have GERD. To know for sure, see a gastrointestinal.
Or ACUPUNCTURE SuJok energy and color therapy, may overcome the symptoms. Heart burn needs to change the life style with changes in food etc. However, many people are not ready to change either their lifestyle or food that easily. So what is the easy solution to stop the heart burn at least temporarily.

You know that stomach is connected to esophagus through a reflux valve. When the reflex valve do not function properly the stomach contents go back to esophagus and create hear burn. The reflux valve is located just at the end of the middle of the chest bone. In the lower end of the chest bone slightly to the mid right there will be sever pain to touch when heart burn is present. Just gently message the point with your fingers for 2 minutes. The heart burn will stop temporarily. If you do it three times a day regularly 2 minutes each for some days, if you are lucky the heart burn may say good bye to you.

Placing books or blocks under your headboard, in order to raise the head of your set of bedding will damage your bed and lead to a sag in the middle of the mattress. If this insufficient support is discovered by a third party mattress inspector researching a warranty claim, it will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Check any major manufacturer’s warranty and you will find the same information.

An elegant solution to this situation is using a foam wedge between the mattress and the box spring. This will provide the elevation necessary to reduce or mitigate nighttime acid indigestion. It also allows you to sleep on the mattress that you selected for your level of comfort, you can sleep in any position that you are comfortable with and use the pillows that you love. If you Google “MediWedge” you will find a foam wedge that enables you to accomplish this.
