GINGIVITIS

GINGIVITIS
Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gingiva (gums), characterised by redness, swelling, bleeding  easily when brushed or prodded, tenderness and usually bad breath. Swelling deepens the crevice between gums and teeth, where pockets containing pus may develop to cause a condition called pyorrhoea. Gingivitis is common and may be acute, chronic or recurrent.
The most frequent single cause of gingivitis is poor dental hygiene with a build-up of dental plaque around the base of the teeth. Other localised causes include tartar, calcified plaque, food traps between teeth and ill-fitting dental plates, caps or crowns. The gum inflammation that often develops during puberty or pregnancy is thought to be aggravated by hormonal factors. Gingivitis may also be a symptom of general illness for example in Diabetes mellitus and leukaemia and malnutrition especially in scurvy and pellagra Vitamin B3 deficiency.
Gingivitis is treated by control of plaque and correction of any other local or general conditions that contribute to the disorder.  Good dental hygiene with regular tooth brushing and use of dental floss will prevent most gingivitis. Acute ulcerative necrotizing gingivitis is a non contagious, painful, ulcerating infection of the gums also called trench mouth or Vincents disease. This can develop in heavy smokers or people suffering poor dental hygiene, nutritional deficiencies or physical or emotional stress.  The mouth has an extremely bad odour, and the victim may develop a fever. The plaque and calculus irritate the gums, causing them to become inflamed.  In time, the bone supporting the teeth may become inflamed.  The best way to prevent plaque from building up under the gum line is by flossing daily.  The gums can also become irritated by habitually breathing through the mouth, smoking or chewing tobacco, brushing improperly, or wearing ill-fitting dentures.  Irregularly positioned teeth can also irritate the gums.
Symptoms develop rapidly over a day or so and include very painful bleeding gums, foul breath, crater like ulcers covered with a grayish membrane particularly on the points of gums between the teeth and usually swollen glands around the jaws.  People who smoke or chew tobacco or drink excessive amounts of alcoholic beverages are exposing themselves to an increased risk of developing oral cancer.  Oral cancer may be painless and unnoticeable in its early stages.  The first symptom may be a small sore in the mouth that does not heal.
Treatment is by the use of hydrogen peroxide mouthwashes to relieve the symptoms, followed by gentle removal of plaque by the dentist. Anti bacterial drugs may also be need.  Good nutrition is essential to recovery.
According to energy concept of SuJok Acupuncture, gums inflammation in mainly because of nutritional deficiency, thrush is stomatitis caused by infection with fungus, also associated with the excessive emotional stress; Basic dominant energy is Stomach and sub branch energy of gums mucous membrane is excess of Dryness. One may easily overcome the symptoms of gums inflammation by controlling this energy.
SuJok Acupuncture not only is effective as a primary modality, it also can play a vital role as an adjunct therapy due to how effective the meridian system is as a means of proper diagnosis. Because the meridians influence every cell in the body and pass through every organ and organ system, acupuncture provides health practitioners with an accurate and noninvasive means of determining health deficiencies, as well as a method of reestablishing balance.  It [acupuncture] provides maximum benefits without the dangerous side effects associated with many of the approaches of conventional medicine.
While acupuncture represents a legacy of concepts that predate Western civilization, as a contemporary health care system it also represents a synthesis of continuously evolving scientific and technological developments which provides us with new tools to meet current clinical challenges. The treatment is undoubtedly Total Effectiveness.

Character; Heat energy is dominant if the behaviour of an individual is – fearless, emotional, sensitive, with good sense of humor, energetic, ready to help the adults.
Disease; Tendency to hyperthermia reactions, furunculosis, premature pubescence.
Character; Hotness energy is dominant if the behaviour of an individual is – even-tempered, calm, healthy, leader in a group of children, writes verses and or music, proud ness.
Disease; Very high temperature reactions accompanied by cramps and loss of consciousness, early sexual development.
Character; Humidity energy is dominant if the behaviour of an individual is – born with large weight, plump in early years, eats and sleep much, likes milk and candy, Politeness.
Disease; Chronic tonsillitis, adenoids, epidemic parotiditis, eczema.
Character; Dryness energy is dominant if the behaviour of an individual is – thin and skinny, pale, whiner, reasonable, slow-moving, willingly goes to bed and gets up early.
Disease; Frequent respiratory disease, retarded sexual development.
Character; Coldness energy is dominant if the behaviour of an individual is – small skinny, looks unhappy, hides, obedient, readily withdraws, chilly, easily tired.
Disease; Frequent Otis, colds, fears, school stress, retarded sexual development, developmental lagging, cachexia.
One may overcome the behavioural disorders, diseases if opting through treatment particularly SuJok ACUPUNCTURE, one may get positive effective results.  The beauty of acupuncture is that each treatment is catered to the needs of an individual one. It involves inserting of very thin, fine, metal needles into the specific ‘correspondence points’ located on the miniature form of hands or foot, along the meridians pathways along which vital energy travels, connecting the surface of the body energetically with the internal organs, it’s the energy concept chosen for overall well-being with the objective of increasing circulation of the blood and vital energy. The remission of the disease can be achieved and medicament’s therapy simultaneously can be reduced or eliminated altogether.  The course of treatment is definitely uneventful to overcome any behavioral disorders.

GALL STONES

GALL STONES
Solid bodies that form in the gall bladder from constituents of bile such as cholesterol, bile pigment, mucin and calcium.  Gall stones a small sac found just under the liver. It stores bile made by liver. Bile helps to digest fats. Bile moves from gallbladder to small intestine through tubes called cystic duct and common bile duct. The most common symptom is pain in stomach area or in the upper right part of the belly, under the ribs. The size of gall stones ranges from  grit like to several centimetres in width.  There may be a single stone but more often there are many.
CAUSE: The cause of gall stones, also called cholelithiasis is uncertain. It has been suggested that bile containing more than the usual amount of cholesterol, a normal bile constituent and a smaller than usual amount of bile acid may be likely to lead to stone formation. Production of this type of bile is an inherited tendency, which would explain why gall stones often run in families. Other possible factors include inflammation or infection of gall bladder, increased bile pigment formation and hormonal and other genetic factors.
INCIDENCE: Gall stones  are common in men and women.
PAIN: It may be develop suddenly in center of upper belly and spread to right upper back or shoulder-blade area. It is usually hard to get comfortable; moving around does not make pain go away.  It also prevent from taking normal or deep breaths. Normally it begins at night and be severe enough to wake you and mostly occur after meals. There are many other conditions that cause similar symptoms, including heartburn, pain caused by heart attack, and liver problems. Stomach flu(gastroenteritis) and food poisoning also can cause symptoms similar to gall stones.
Pancreatitis: Pancreatitis is an inflammation of pancreas, which is an organ in the upper abdomen that makes insulin and digestive enzymes. Pancreatitis may cause sudden, severe abdominal pain. It is most commonly caused by excessive use of alcohol or by blockage of tube(duct) that leads from pancreas to beginning of small intestine(duodenum),usually by a gall stone. Other causes include an infection, injury, or certain medicines. It may develop suddenly(acute),or it may be a long-term,recurring(chronic) problem, but may develop complications such as bleeding, infection,or organ failure may develop. The pancreas is an organ in upper belly, behind stomach and close to spine. It makes digestive enzymes that body uses to break down and process food. The pancreas also makes insulin, hormone that regulates sugar (glucose) in the blood.
SYMPTOMS: The most common symptoms are bouts of moderate upper abdominal pain or in upper right part of belly, sometimes brought on by a fatty meal. Pain may spread to right upper back or shoulder-blade area. Sometimes pain is more severe. It may be steady, or it may come and go. Or it may get worse even after eating something heavy.  When gall stones keep blocking bile duct, there is a pain with fever and chills, or the skin or whites of your eyes may turn yellow. Having stones in bile duct increases the chance of having swollen pancreas (pancreatitis). These symptoms may also be a sign of an infected gallbladder. A stone wedged in the ducts that drain the gall bladder causes the agonising pain of biliary COLIC.  If the stone blocks the common bile duct which drains bile from both the liver and gall bladder there may be jaundice as well as colic. A stone below the junction of the common bile duct and the pancreatic duct can, in addition cause acute PANCREATITIS.  However many people with gall stones have no symptoms, the stones may be discovered by chance if abdominal x-ray or ultrasound is performed for other reasons.  Symptoms of Gallbladder disease simultaneously be of steady, severe pain in the upper abdomen that increases rapidly.  pain in the back between the shoulder blades. pain under the right shoulder. nausea or vomiting abdominal bloating recurring intolerance of fatty foods colic belching gas indigestion.
The current belief is that cholesterol stones are the result of bile that is made of too much cholesterol or bilirubin and not enough bile salts. Cholesterol stones may also form when the gallbladder fails to properly empty during the digestive process. But those who develop pigment stones most often include people who have cirrhosis of the liver, biliary tract infections, and hereditary blood disorders that include sickle-cell anemia. These are all conditions that lead to the formation of too much bilirubin.
TREATMENT: Surgery to remove the gall bladder(cholecystectomy) is most commonly advised if opt through the medicinal concept. But if opting through alternative treatment particularly SuJok acupuncture, one may get positive effective results.  The beauty of acupuncture is that each treatment is catered to the needs of an individual patient.  SuJok is a component of Onnuri medicine, and involves inserting of very thin, fine, metal needles into the specific ‘correspondence points’ located on the miniature form of hands or foot, along the meridians pathways along which Qi travels, connecting the surface of the body energetically with the internal organs, it’s the energy concept chosen for overall well-being with the objective of increasing circulation of the blood and vital energy. The remission of the disease can be achieved and medicaments therapy simultaneously can be reduced or eliminated altogether.  The course of treatment is definitely uneventful.

LIVER

LIVER
The liver function is to promote the free flow of vital energy, dominates the tendons and open into the eye.  Liver’s vital energy stagnation and emotions – according to energy concept of Onnuri Medicine, emotional disorders may be associated with a number of different patterns of disharmony; however, anger, irritability, and frustration are all signs that the energy is not flowing smoothly, properly. The liver is responsible for the smooth flow of energy (life force) throughout the body and for smoothing our emotions too. When the liver’s function of moving energy considered to be as wind and with new research it is considered to be as coldness is disrupted, can become stuck, referred as liver energy stagnation. Stagnation is one of the most common patterns of disharmony observed in patients. In addition to irritability and moodiness, changes of the liver mainly manifest themselves in dysfunctions of the liver in storing blood and in promoting the free flow of energy, and in disorders of the tendons.
Signs and symptoms may include ;
 – Distending pain in the area below the ribs
 – Pain or discomfort anywhere along the sides of the body
 – Stuffiness of the chest
 – Distending or wandering pain in coastal and hypochondriac regions, in prolonged cases pricking pain or palpable mass may be present
 – Sighing
 – Abdominal distention and discomfort
 – Stomachache that improves after massage or Stomachache that worsens with anger
 – Nausea
 – Sour regurgitation
 – Belching
 – Diarrhea or constipation
 – Feeling of a lump in the throat or possibly a foreign body sensation in the throat
 – Irregular woman’s cycle, painful periods and distention of the breasts prior to periods
 – Liver qi stagnation is commonly associated with PMS.
 – Depression. Mood swings. Sighing. Hiccups. Frustration. Inappropriate anger. Sensation of a lump in throat. Difficulty swallowing.
 – Bitter taste in mouth
 – Poor appetite
 – Churning sensation in stomach.
The tongue may be purplish dark in color or there are purplish spots on the tongue.
Move Livers vital energy! The liver is responsible for the smooth flowing of energy (life force) throughout the body. When the liver functions smoothly, physical and  emotional activity throughout the body also runs smoothly. So, for optimum health, move your energy!
Stretch – The liver controls the tendons, it stores blood during periods of rest and then releases it to the tendons in times of activity, maintaining tendon health and flexibility. Incorporate a morning stretch into your routine. Try yoga or tai chi.
Eye Exercises – The liver opens into the eyes. Although all the organs have some connection to the health of the eyes, the liver is connected to proper eye function. Remember to take breaks when looking at a computer monitor for extended periods of time and do eye exercises.
Eat Green – Green is the color of the liver. Eating young plants – fresh, leafy greens, sprouts, and immature cereal grasses – can improve the liver’s overall functions and aid in the movement of energy.
Try Something Sour – Foods and drinks with sour tastes are thought to stimulate the liver’s vital energy. Put lemon slices in your drinking water, use vinegar and olive oil for your salad dressing and garnish your sandwich with a slice of dill pickle.
Do More Outdoor Activities – Outside air helps liver qi flow. If you have been feeling irritable, find an outdoor activity to smooth out that liver energy stagnation. Try hiking or take up golf.
Enjoy Milk Thistle Tea – Milk thistle helps protect liver cells from incoming toxins and encourages the liver to cleanse itself of damaging substances, such as alcohol, medications, pesticides, environmental toxins, and even heavy metals such as mercury.
The syndrome is often due to mental irritation which impairs the function of the liver in promoting the free flow of qi and results in stagnation of the liver energy, leading to retardation of the energy circulation thus presenting mental depression, irritability, distending pain in the coastal and hypochondriac regions, breasts, stuffiness in the chest and sighing. Transverse invasion of the spleen and stomach by the liver energy produces epigastric and abdominal distension and pain, poor appetite, belching.  Retardation of the energy circulation allows damp to collect and phlegm may be formed; the phlegm and energy may accumulate in the throat. Affected by the dysfunction of energy, the circulation of both energy and blood is retarded and disharmony of the conception vessel meridians may result. This can cause irregular menstruation and dysmenorrhea.  Long standing obstruction of the liver energy, leading to stagnation of energy and blood, may elicit palpable masses, accompanied by pricking pain in the coastal and hypochondriac regions, a purple tongue or a tongue with purplish spots and a string taunt pulse.
The blood circulation relies upon the propelling function of energy. Although the heart and lung play the main role in the circulation of energy and blood, the function of the liver in maintaining the free flow of energy is also needed to prevent stagnation’s of energy and blood. The liver stores blood and its meridian ascends to connect with the eyes. The liver energy is in communication with the eyes. Whether the liver function is normal or not often reflects on the eye. Deficiency of the yin and blood of of the liver may lead to dryness of the eyes, blurred vision or even night blindness. Wind heat in the liver meridian may give rise to redness, swelling and pain in the eyes.
AS, SuJok is a component of Onnuri Medicine, and involves inserting of very thin, fine, metal needles into the specific ‘correspondence points’ or ‘triorigin joints’ or meridians located on the miniature form of hands or foot, connecting the surface of the body energetically with the internal organs. The theory is that inserting the needles stimulates these ‘energy points’ and unblocks the natural flow of light energy (qi or chi) through meridians, six ki or eight ki. Blocked qi is thought to cause disease. Unblocking qi allows  body to heal itself.  Scientific evidence=One theory suggests the needling encourages the release of endorphins natural pain killers produced by the brain) and sets off an inflammatory response that allows the body to heal itself. Another theory is that acupuncture has a powerful effect on the mind, which may also help to activate the body’s pain-relieving mechanisms.  The remission of the disease of LIVER can be achieved and medicamentous therapy simultaneously can be reduced or eliminated altogether.  The course of treatment is defenietly uneventful.  It [acupuncture] provides maximum benefits without the dangerous side effects associated with many of the approaches of conventional medicine. Try effectiveness results with smile.

BREAST CANCER

BREAST CANCER
• In its early stages, usually it does not have any symptoms.  The diagnosis of breast cancer has a profound emotional impact because of fears and it affects a part of the body intimately linked with a woman’s self image and sexuality. As a tumor develops with the following signs :
• A thickening or lump in the breast or armpit usually observed after the menstrual cycle; often the first apparent symptom of breast cancer, breast lumps are painless, although some may cause a prickly sensation. Lumps are usually visible on a mammogram long before they can be seen or felt.
• Swelling in the armpit.
• Although lumps are usually painless, pain or tenderness in the breast can be a sign of breast cancer.
• A noticeable flattening or indentation on the breast, which may indicate a tumor that cannot be seen or felt.
• Any change in the size, shape, contour, texture, or temperature of the breast, like dimple in the skin, a reddish, pitted surface like the skin of an orange could be a sign of breast cancer.
• A change in the nipple, such as an indrawn or dimpled look, itching or burning sensation, or ulceration; scaling of the nipple is symptomatic of Paget’s disease, a localized cancer.
• Unusual discharge from the nipple that may be clear, bloody, or another color. It’s usually caused by benign conditions but could be due to cancer in some cases.
• Change in the color or peel of the skin around the nipple.
• A marble-like area under the skin.
• Dilated veins.
• Hardness of the breast.
• An area that is distinctly different from any other area on either breast. One or both breasts develop an abnormal lump or persistent pain, or look or feel abnormal. The cause often is something other than cancer but should be identified.
• There may be swollen lymph glands in the armpits. Any such swelling could be associated with cancer.
It begins with the formation of a tumor. If the tumor is malignant, it has the potential to grow and spread or metastasize to different parts of the body through the blood stream or the lymphatic system.  Almost all breast cancers begin in the glandular structures in the breast that, during lactation, produce milk. These mammary glands are under the control of reproductive hormones that stimulate the monthly cycle of gland expansion and shrinkage, which is a feature of the regular menstrual cycle. Many of the factors associated with the development of breast cancer appear to have their effect through interaction with the hormonal stimulation of these glands. It can be ‘invasive’ (spreading) or ‘noninvasive’ (do not spread and is confined to the original site). There are different kinds of breast cancer;
Ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS),  Lobular carcinoma in situ(LCIS),  Invasive(infiltrating)ductal carcinoma(IDC): This kind of cancer begins in the milk passage, breaks through the wall of the passage and spreads in the breast tissue. Later the cancer cells spreads to different parts of the body. Invasive (infiltrating) lobular carcinoma (ILC): This condition begins in the milk lobules and spreads to different parts of the body.
Inflammatory breast cancer(IBC): This is a rare invasive condition where a tumor or lump is not seen, instead the skin of the breast looks red and warm to feel. The skin is thick with pitted appearance and looks like an orange peel. The breast becomes larger, firmer, tender and itchy.
Diagnosis is based on detection and screening. It can be done through self-examination of the breast frequently and finding out for the presence of lumps, pain in the breast, thickness, changes during menstruation. Getting checked with a physician is necessary if anything unusual is observed. Self-examination helps in early diagnosis of the disease.
But if one has already have the Chemotherapy, it may develop some side effects which causes nausea, vomiting, infertility problems and early menopause by destroying the eggs in the ovaries.
Hormonal therapy causes vaginal dryness and hot flashes after menopause. Hormonal therapy: Those who have undergone menopause and taken hormone therapy for more than 4 years with estrogen and progesterone have high chances.
Herceptin can cause heart problems by weakening the heart muscles.
Side-effects of radiation therapy include swelling in the breast, reddening and blistering of the skin and fatigue.
One should avoid long-term hormone intake after menopause.  Breast-feeding will lower the risk.  Conceiving before 30 years of age.  Loosing extra kilos, as extra fat increases estrogen production.  Consuming healthy food with plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.  Exercising regularly.  Decrease alcohol consumption.
The chances are high as the age increases or if anybody in the family has suffered from breast cancer indicating genes are responsible. If one has breast cancer in one of the breast, there is a likelihood of getting affected to the other breast too. Chances of recurrences are high to the same part or to different parts of the body.
Menstruation: Women with menstruation beginning before the age of 12 years and menopause occurring after the age of 55 years are at high-risk of getting affected with breast cancer.
Having higher estrogen levels increases the risk.
More fat in the body and consuming alcohol increases estrogen levels especially after menopause leading to an increased risk. It has been suggested that a diet  high in fat and or sugar may be causative and that high fibre intake may be protective, but these theories have not been proven.
Radiation therapy: Young women who have exposed their breasts to radiations due to some diseased condition like Hodgkin’s lymphoma are likely to develop breast cancer in the later ages.
Not breast-feeding: Women who never breast-feed their children are at high risk.
The risk for breast cancer is also significantly decreased among women undergoing surgical removal of the ovaries, particularly if the surgery is performed before age thirty-five,as removes the major source of reproductive hormones and therefore results in less stimulation of the glands in the breast.
Conversely, the greater number of years a woman has regular menstrual cycles, the higher the risk of breast cancer. There is also a modest increase in risk associated with postmenopausal estrogen replacement therapy (especially when used more than 15 years), and with exposure to the synthetic estrogen diethylstilbestrol during pregnancy. Studies have found a significant correlation between breast cancer and levels of hormones—estradiol, estrone, estrone sulfate, prolactin, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate. A drug used to treat breast cancer, tamoxifen, blocks estrogen receptors.
Taken together, a significant body of research shows that reproductive hormones—produced internally and taken as medicines—are major determinants of breast cancer risk. Other factors—including genetic predisposition, environmental exposure, and lifestyle choices—may increase cancer risk via hormone regulation.
The  energy concept of SuJok ACUPUNCTURE ; any cancerous cell means more strong the Hotness vital energy in the coldness area, because it is spreading. And BREAST it self is connected with oestrogen level.  Acupuncture, itself is a powerful medicine, which aids in strengthening the immune system and serves to prevent the diseases, control pain and increase both the ability to function and the quality of lives.  It has been shown to promote the health and improve body’s immune function. It has also helped many people who were not successfully treated through conventional western medicine.  Several conditions can be dramatically improved or remedied in full including breast cancer.
SuJok is a component of Onnuri medicine, and involves inserting of very thin, fine, metal needles into the specific ‘correspondence points’ located on the miniature form of hands or foot, along the meridians pathways along which Qi travels, connecting the surface of the body energetically with the internal organs.
