Epilepsy

EPILEPSY

A recurrent disorder of brain function characterised by sudden brief attacks of altered consciousness, abnormal movements and or sensations, seizures or inappropriate behaviour. It occurs in seizures, manifested by falling down in a fit, loss of consciousness, foam on the lips or screams with eyes staring upward, and convulsions. Epilepsy is caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Infections, meningitis, inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, brain tumours, disturbances of the body’s chemical balance, certain poisonings, or interference with the blood supply to part of the brain. After some minutes, consciousness returns and the patients condition becomes normal. In the remainder no cause can be found, but it is suspected that unexplained inherited factors may predispose some people to seizures. Epilepsy is classified according to the type of seizure that usually occurs. Besides the typical seizures, there may be variations. It can be a momentary loss of attention or consciousness with eyes staring directly forward or prolonged loss of consciousness associated with convulsions and foam on the lips. It may occur at any time, in various frequency and with different severity. It is often preceded by an ‘aura’ of dizziness, depression sensation of the chest, and listlessness. Basically, epilepsy is an excess condition, but frequent recurrence can lower the body resistance.

•Grand mal is characterised by generalised seizures in which after a strange cry, could be because of fear and fright. The patient falls down unconscious, whole body stiffness and various muscle twitch or jerk. The seizure usually lasts a couple of minutes, after which the muscles relax and the bladder and or bowel may empty involuntarily. The sufferer often feels dazed and disoriented has a headache and may sleep for an hour or so. There is usually no memory of the event. Grand mal affects about go per cent of epilepsy sufferers. Normally, fear makes energy disordered and fright makes energy descend affecting the liver and kidney and leading to stirring of the deficiency wind.

•Petit mal absence attacks occurs mainly in children, there is a brief up to 30seconds loss of awareness without grossly abnormal movements, though eye or muscle fluttering may be noticed. These seizures usually happen when a child is sitting quietly, and it may seem that he or she is just daydreaming, however, petit mal seizures can occur many times during the day and may interfere seriously with school progress. It may be due to hereditary factors.

•Simple partial focal, local seizures affect only part of the body and begin with specific involuntary movements tics, twitches and abnormal sensations such as skin tingling and hallucinations of smell, sight or taste without loss of consciousness. In one type, called Jacksonian seizures, muscle twitches begin in one hand or foot then move up the limb, spread similarly from one corner of the mouth. simple partial seizures may subside after a few minutes or may progress to grand mal. This may be due to dysfunction of the liver in smoothing flow of energy or irregular food intake damaging the spleen and stomach, makes the dampness of food and drink accumulate as phlegm, which combined with the stagnated liver energy, disturbs the mind and causes epilepsy.

•Complex partial seizures are characterised by a variety of abnormal movements sensations and behaviours associated with loss of awareness for one to two minutes, rarely longer. The sufferer may at first stagger, perform automatic, purposeless movements and utter unintelligible sounds. He or she does not understand what is said and may resist aid. Mental confusion continues for a minute or so after the attack is apparently over. The sufferer remembers little if any of what has happened. Complex partial seizures are usually associated with a structural abnormality, such as a tumour,of the brain.

•Status epileptics occurs when grand mal,petit mal or complex partial seizures follow one another with no intervening periods of consciousness. Grand mal status epileptics may persist for hours and can cause permanent brain damage or be fatal without emergency treatment. When epilepsy begins in childhood, seizures may become less frequent in adolescence and adulthood and in some cases may stop. People with epilepsy are encouraged to lead as normal a life as their condition permits. Moderate exercise, sport and social activities are possible for most, but over exertion, stress and alcohol should be avoided. Regular meals and sleep are advisable. Most people with epilepsy can work, but the disorder may limit their choices of career. Differentiation;

During seizure – Main manifestations:

A typical seizure is preceded by dizziness, headache and suffocating sensation in the chest and immediately followed by falling down with loss of consciousness, pallor, clenched jaws, upward staring of the eyes, convulsion, foam on the lips, screaming as pigs or sheep and even incontinence of urine and feces. Gradually, the patient regains consciousness, and the symptoms disappear. Apart from fatigue and weakness, the patient can live a normal life. White sticky tongue coating and string taut, rolling pulse. Analysis: Dizziness, headache and suffocated sensation in the chest are the prodromal symptoms which show the upward perversion of the wind phlegm. The liver wind stirs up with the phlegm to disturb the mind. Therefore, there are loss of consciousness, convulsions and upward staring of the eyes. The foam on the lips is owing to the ascending wind phlegm. White, sticky tongue coating and rolling pulse are the signs of retaing of the phlegm. Since the wind phlegm is irregularly accumulated and dispersed the seizures are paroxysmal and the patient behaves as normal after the seizure.

After seizure – Main manifestations:

Listlessness, lustreless complexion, dizziness, palpitation, anorexia, profuse sputum, weakness and soreness of the lions and limbs, pale tongue with white coating and thready, rolling pulse. Analysis: Listlessness is due to damage of the vital energy by frequent epileptic fits. With insufficiency of blood, the complexion is lustreless. There is dizziness if the brain lacks blood supply, and palpitation if the heart is poorly supplied with blood. due to the depression of the spleen yang, the food cannot be transformed into essence and dampness and phlegm are produced, so there are anorexia and profuse sputum. Deficiency of the kidney essence causes soreness and weakness of the loins and limbs. Pale tongue with whit coating and thready, rolling pulse suggest consumption of energy and blood and accumulation of phlegm dampness. SuJok, a totally new and unique approach of the system of correspondence on Arm and Leg with two main advantages, one is natural stimulation without instrument and equipment and second is availability of detailed correspondence system for brain and head. This new system is very easy to understand and apply, giving very accurate and fast results. The method of treatment is amazingly simple to learn and to treat diseases of various origin and pathology successfully. An important aspect of SuJok therapy is that it allows to take into account an individual characteristics of the patient manifested in own energy constitution. This brings about an effective action on the very origin of disease. Besides, there are practically no contraindications for utilization of SuJok therapy. It has been shown to promote the health and improve the body’s immune function, also helped many people who were not successfully treated through conventional western medicine. Several conditions can be dramatically improved or remedied in full including epileptic disorders.

Atman

ATMAN

Most Hindus believe in a supreme spirit, called Brahman, and in the reincarnation of a person’s atman or soul. Hindus must practise satya (truth) and ahimsa (noninjury). At the same time must respect other’s property. Every Hindu follows the dharma (religious and moral duty) of varna, jati (caste), kula (family), and ashrama as best they can. Hindus believe in life after death. An individual can follow various paths to achieve moksha (release from the cycle of birth and rebirth), and ultimate union with Brahman, or God. Philosophical ideas, Vedanta philosophy and the Bhagavad-Gita define atman as the divine energy in every creature. Atman, the soul, continues to exist when the body dies, when it is rehoused in a new body. Each atman, because of its karma, experiences many lives until it achieves moksha.  The three qualities, prakriti (the matter necessary for all creation), gunas (the attributes built into the character of every created object), and maya (which makes this impermanent world appear merely as an illusion) bind atman to the material world. It is trapped in the cycle of successive lives.

Brahman <Atom, Infinity Neuto> is the name of the most absolute, abstract form of God in the Hindu religion. Hindus believe Brahman is the divine force that sustains the universe. Brahman has three main forms, called the Trimurti. They are Brahma<Electron,Hetero>, the creator of the universe; Vishnu<Neutrion,Neutro>, its preserver; and Shiva<Proton,Homo>, its destroyer. Hindus relate Brahman to the idea of Atman, the universal soul that is the source of individual souls. Many Hindus believe people must discover the Atman or Brahman in themselves in order to achieve spiritual perfection. In the Rig-Veda, the earliest Hindu scriptures, the name Brahman referred to the power present in religious sacrifices. As Hindu philosophy developed, this power came to mean the soul of the universe. Parts of the Upanishads, a group of sacred writings, glorify Brahman over all other forms of God. God <Triorigin> is a religious term for the “supreme reality.” In many religions, God is the creator of the universe and the ultimate source of knowledge, power, and love. Triorigin is a fundamental, inseparable, immutable, manifesting itself in all phenomena and factors – physical and metaphysical – of this world, it provides a basis for organisation of both man’s physical body and his en system, fundamental order is zero character, no change, fixed as fundamental, still everywhere, Enlightened.

SOUL is like the Zero state, it is similar to ‘Nothing’ state that existed in the beginning of this Universe before the big-bang. HE ‘CREATOR’ also exists in this Zero state. So, our Soul belongs to HIM. We are like HIS sons and daughters. That’s why HE is eager to inform us about this truth, so that we are free from suffering and ignorance. Parents are always eager to give wisdom and knowledge to there children, keeping no secrets. So ‘SuJok’ is ‘HIS’ system. It belongs to HIM. It is common to all, with no claims of belonging to a person or country. Through SuJok we can recognize HIS existence. Thus, He created SuJok therapy as a Holy therapy.

JAUNDICE

Jaundice
An excess of bilirubin in blood can produce jaundice, is a yellowish discoloration of skin, tissues and sclera is caused by high levels in blood of the chemical bilirubin.  It results from an increased amount of bilirubin, a reddish-yellow pigment in blood, when bilirubin level is mildly elevated, they are yellowish and they tend to be brown when bilirubin level is high.  Jaundice is mainly manifested by yellow discoloration of the sclera, skin, urine, normally resulted from the dampness in the spleen and heat in the stomach, leading to abnormal circulation of the bile which spreads to the skin surface. It is further divided into Yang jaundice and Yin jaundice according to its nature.
Bilirubin is formed by the breakdown of haemoglobin, a pigment in red blood cells.  The liver removes bilirubin from the blood stream and discharges it in the bile. The chemical that remains in the blood after the iron is removed becomes bilirubin.  Thus, jaundice results from either excessive production of bilirubin or reduced discharge of bile.  Jaundice is not a disease but a symptom of various diseases.
Hemolytic jaundice results from an increased breakdown of red blood cells, which causes a greater concentration of bilirubin in the blood. Hepatocellular jaundice occurs when the liver is diseased, as in hepatitis, so that it cannot secrete enough bile. Mainly Bilirubin collects in the body, with the result jaundice develop.  Obstructive jaundice is caused by the blocking of the bile ducts.  Gallstones may also cause such a blockage. Many babies are born with physiologic jaundice, which occurs if the body cannot process all the bilirubin it produces.  In most cases, it disappears within two weeks after birth.
Bile a fluid secreted by liver helps the body digest and absorb fatty foods.  It also rids the body of certain waste products.  The liver secretes bile continuously, producing about 1 litre per day.  Bile flows from the liver into a tube called the hepatic duct. It connects with the common bile duct, which leads to the small intestine.  Except after meal most of the bile does not proceed directly to intestine.  Rather, it enters in gall bladder, a pouch attached to the common bile duct.  There, bile is stored and concentrated until needed. It contains various waste products that eventually become part of the faeces (solid body wastes).  One of these waste products, bilirubin, is formed from breakdown of red blood cells.  Bilirubin gives bile its colour, which ranges from brown to greenish-yellow.  Other waste matter in the bile includes excess cholesterol and certain poisons that the liver removes from the bloodstream.
The seasonal and epidemic factors accumulate in the spleen and stomach, leading to internal formation and collection of damp heat. Dampness after mixed with heat is apt to penetrate deeper, while heat mixed with dampness is apt to get more exuberant. The liver and gallbladder are steamed by the heat in the spleen and stomach, leading to overflow of the bile to the skin surface, thus jaundice appears.
Irregular diet injures the spleen and stomach, causing disturbance in transportation and transformation and internal formation of dampness, which transforms into heat. Damp heat stains the skin yellow.
Differentiation
YANG Jaundice ; Main manifestations: Lustrous yellow skin and sclera, fever, thirst, scanty dark yellow urine, heaviness of the body, fullness in the abdomen, stuffiness of the chest, nausea, yellow sticky tongue coating, string taut, rapid pulse. If the spleen yang fails to resolve the dampness, the normal distribution of bile is impaired, affecting the spleen, soaking into the muscles, and spreading to the skin which turns yellow as if it were smoked.
Basically, steaming of the damp heat makes the bile spread to the skin surface. Heat being a yang factor, makes the yellow discoloration of the skin lustrous. Fever, thirst, scanty dark yellow urine are due to excessive damp heat, which damages the body fluid and disturbs the activity of the bladder.
YIN Jaundice ; Main manifestations: Sallow skin, heaviness of the body, weakness, loss of appetite, epigastric stuffiness, lassitude, aversion to cold, absence of thirst, pale tongue, thick, white tongue coating, deep slow pulse. Yin jaundice can also result from an improperly treated yang jaundice which leads to injury of the yang qi, hypo-activity of the spleen yang, and internal collection of cold dampness.
Basically, the stagnation of cold dampness in the spleen and stomach impedes the distribution of yang qi, leading to overflow of the bile, thus the skin is sallow. In case the dampness stays in the spleen, the spleen yang is hypo-active and the transporting and transforming function is impaired, therefore heaviness in the body, loss of appetite and epigastric stuffiness occurs.
SuJok Acupuncture, itself is a powerful medicine, which aids in strengthening the immune system and serves to prevent diseases, control pain and increase both the ability to function and the quality of peoples lives.  It has been shown to promote the health and improve the body’s immune function. It has also been observed many people who were not successfully treated through conventional western medicine.  Several conditions can be dramatically improved or remedied in full including Jaundice.
While giving treatment through SuJok ACUPUNCTURE, one can opt for the positive effectiveness treatment aiming sedating Biliary colic Heart which is already in excess. Total effectiveness is possible.
